    Decatur Public Schools #61 will provide a summer program for all PK-12 students free of charge. This program is designed to provide students the opportunity to engage in any learning missed during our 20-21 school year, while also giving students a strong start to the fall semester. The program is designed to help students maintain the skills they acquired during the regular school year and help them obtain new skills for the following school year. In addition to mathematics, communication arts, and either science or social studies, students PK-8 will engage in current grade level priority standards during the month of June and project based/themed camps during the month of July for K-12. Students who will be enrolled in grades 9-12 have the opportunity to participate in credit recovery and/or learn more about a particular topic during June and July. Summer Extended Learning Time is designed to be fun and interactive, while providing an educational program for students entering kindergarten through 12th grade in the Fall of 2021. Our intention is to ensure learning will take place in person, options for virtual learning will be shared with families that register.

    The deadline to register for summer programs is May 7, 2021. Online registration for K-8 grades, including SDMS is closed so that our Transportation Department can begin to work on bus routing. Parents of high school students can still enroll by contacting the student’s attending high school main office (MacArthur High School (217)-362-3150 or Eisenhower High School (217) 362-3100).  All students enrolled for summer programming will be accepted on a first come first served basis.

    • Restoration Session: June 1 - June 24, 2021 (Monday-Thursday)

    • Acceleration Session: July 6 - July 29, 2021 (Monday-Thursday)
