Decision 4 Decatur is a community-led effort to address the needs of the 21st century learner in our high schools.

In 2007, the Decatur Public Schools Strategic Plan identified improving high school facilities as a high priority. Work began in February of 2009 to get community input to determine the direction of these facility improvements.

On June 22, 2010 the Decision4Decatur Tri-Chairs presented a Power Point to the Board of Education regarding the option chosen by the community and recommended by the Tri-Chairs. To see the Power Point Presentation Click Here

After collecting and reviewing a significant amount of community input, our Board of Education narrowed the list of options from 4 to 2:

    • Renovate both High Schools
    • Convert Stephen Decatur to one High School campus.
