Substitute Teaching Hiring Process

1. Please order a sealed Official transcript to be mailed directly or have the school send them electronically. If they are being sent electronically, please send to Dwilliams@roe39.k12.il.us. 

2. Apply Online:
            a. Go to ISBE.net/ELIS
                      →Educator access link
                            →Sign up, create new account

**(It will cost $50.00 for the application fee and the registration fee will be $60.00. This will need to be paid ONLINE when you are registering, debit or credit card ONLY).

              b. A physical within the last year is required for both the ROE & DPS61.
                  To expedite the process, please have these completed when you go to the ROE.  
        

3. Apply online with DPS 61
          a. Go to: www.dps61.org
             →Top right corner, Employment
                    →Create an EXTERNAL account, vacancy desired:
                                  Substitute Teacher
   
   

4. Go to ROE (1690 Huston Dr, Decatur, IL 62526, 217-872-3721)
         a. Bring ONE sealed official transcript (unless sent electronically), your physical,
             and $65 to pay for the background check
           b. Dee Williams will then schedule your fingerprinting appointment
   
   

5. Once ROE has received your fingerprinting results, a packet with all of your information (physical, fingerprinting results, and license) will be mailed to you.
